I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead. Went up to Northern Minnesota to chase the Aurora. While most of the trip was a bust due to heavy cloud cover, there were a few spots of clear skies. When this shot was taken, I wasn't going for Aurora - I already gave up on it for the night, as the data wasn't looking promising. then around 4-4:30AM CST, I get an alert on my phone from Speaceweather.com. I still couldn't see anything with the naked eye... but these colorful reds showed up in the image. So maybe? It could be airglow, too. Image is a tracked sky shot blended with an untracked foreground.
Yesterday night when I was reading the News about AR 2778 on Spaceweather front page, I figured that It is huge, So I planned to capture it today. It is a 180 degrees rotated version. Details: Canon EOS 6D, Maksutov-Cassegrain 90mm Skywatcher Telescope, 10 mm Eyepiece.
