On Tuesday 22nd, after a clear evening with almost perfect viewing conditions, an isolated active cumulus cloud developed over the Cecil Kop Nature Reserve which produced frequent rumbles of thunder and some spectacular displays of intra-cloud crawler lightning. What was unusual about this display was that it was localised and emerged from under just one portion of the cloud. The lightning was followed by only soft rumbles thunder even though it appeared to be quite close by. The accompanying time-lapse animation and still mosaics were compiled from 74 frames extracted from videos taken during a 10 minute period. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS40 in night scenery mode.
I like astronomy, archaeology, photography, music and drinking a lot of tea. I hate politics. Something that annoys me: that I shall not respect the permanence, and to take me by what I'm not. The best sign: VIRGO. The worst: the health. The best: adapt and know how to get ahead.
