C/2021A1 LEONARD Taken by Willian Souza on December 24, 2021 @ Sao Paulo, Brazil


Comet C/2021A1 Leonard was captured on 24.12.2021 during the live of ASTRONEOS youtube Channel using the remote telescope from SONEAR observatory in Oliveira, Brazil. The raw frames were processed by me. The image shows complex structures in the ion tail. The field of view is 3.3x2.2 deg

COMET LEONARD AND THE ZODIAC Taken by Sebastian Voltmer on December 27, 2021 @ La Palma, Canary Islands


Last night I saw the comet over the famous GTC dome with the naked eye. Wide-angle single shot: Comet Leonard and the planets Jupiter, Saturn, Venus in the Zodiacal light over the GTC, La Palma. Sony a7s, 20 mm. In this image all objects point to the sun.

COMET LEONARD SUPER TAIL Taken by Daniele Gasparri on December 27, 2021 @ Atacama region, Chile


Forty degrees are not enough! That's what I thought when I started processing this wide field view of comet Leonard, taken with a 50 mm lens on a Sony A7s full frame camera, which has about 40 degree FOV. The tail stretches beyond the field with no hint of ending soon. I will try again with a shorter lens. Maybe a 70 degree 28 mm lens will be enough? This image is a 120X30 seconds stack.
